Artificial intelligence. The idea of AI is often enough to fill a person with the fear of homicidal robots, and humans living in a simulation while being used as batteries. Is this sense of fear rational? Should people be frightened by computers? To put it simply: no. AI has the ability to better our day-to-day lives and is already being incorporated into many aspects of technology.The number of everyday examples of AI has increased exponentially, from your phone automatically correcting your grammar to facial recognition. This showcases the benefits of AI in modern life because, through AI, technology has become incredibly efficient and easy-to-use for most people. One of the most important factors that people take into consideration before purchasing a product is its ability to make one’s life easier. Few people desire to toil away at a project when a much faster and easier way is available that provides both the same quality product and the same level of personal satisfaction. With an understanding of AI’s ability to simplify a complex aspect of everyday living, most people would support the creation of such technology because they see the clear benefits that this technology can and has created.The truth is that AI has done far more good for this world than many people understand, and with this new knowledge, it is my hope that the general public supports the continued development of artificial intelligence.Andrew BurkhartUxbridge
